Education drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. It empowers   and enlarges the horizons of mind, energizes  society and enables a man to earn  living with respect and praise. Education empowers an individual to choose direction in life and allows them to reinvent himself/herself to change  future. Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other. The only person who is educated is, the one who know how to learn and change. You are the "Change" to yourself and your future.

Govt. Degree College Kunajwani/Sanik Colony Jammu is one of the 50 new colleges established by the JK UT in 2019 and is the fastest growing/ developing college amongst these newly established colleges. The college offers undergraduate degree programmes of B.A, B.Com and B.Sc under NEP 2020, implemented  from the academic session 2022-23. The candidates seeking admission shall have the choice to choose major, minor, multidisciplinary amongst the 18 different subjects comprising   Science, Social Sciences , Humanities and Commerce.

The  college cares for the individual development of each and every student. There  shall be “mentor system” under which each group shall be assigned a teacher mentor with the aim to recognise, identify, and fostering the unique capabilities of each student, by sensitizing teachers as well as parents to promote each student’s holistic development in both academic and non-academic spheres.

We accord prime importance to the behavioural discipline, moral integrity and cognitive developments of our students. NSS, Physical Education, Career Guidance Cell and  different Clubs shall  offer integrated services for the multi–facetted developments of our students. Our teachers strive to teach not only academic programmes but also life skills needed for students’ self-development with highly resourceful faculty.

With a blend of curricular, co-curricular and value added activities, every student is encouraged to explore and reach his dreams. The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about, besides homework.

To support this transformational engagement the entire staff of the college untiringly   teams up  to continually raise the benchmark of our success.   I view my role as an administrator and a friend who facilitates overall development of the students of the college.
